Season Tentatively scheduled to begin May 11
Although our season had been scheduled to begin game play on March 17, Little League International, which operates more than 6,500 programs in more than 84 countries, has recommended that all local Little Leagues exercise caution and implement a temporary suspension of all league activities until no earlier than May 11. This includes practices and games. For the latest updates, go to https://www.littleleague.org/player-safety/coronavirus-update/
ASWLL will follow the lead of Little League International, Arlington Independent School District, and guidelines from local government authorities. Once ASWLL leadership determines that we are clear to play ball, we will communicate with all ASWLL families, and will have a plan in place to ensure cleanliness and safety on the fields, in restrooms, and in the stands. This situation is fluid, and changes in plans could occur fairly frequently, so please read league emails for the latest. As always, thanks for your flexibility as we navigate new waters.
Mark your calendars
Picture Day: Undetermined; we will let everyone know once a firm date is in place.
Donate Blood at the fields: Carter BloodCare will be at MLK on Saturday May 16 from 9:00-1:00. Each donor will receive a $5 CFA gift card. Details will be coming soon.
A current 2020 badge must be worn and visible by ANYONE who will be on the field or in the dugout during a game. There are NO EXCEPTIONS to this. The new badges are gray and have a purple lanyard. Badges will be available for pick up at the Information Tent/Table in front of the Blue Fields before games.
The Master Schedule is undergoing changes due to the Covid 19 situation. As soon as we have clearance to play, we will make all league families aware of the new schedule.
To minimize the risk of spreading illness, we may or may not offer concessions this season once play begins. If we do determine that some level of concessions are appropriate, the policy will be:
Each team will be assigned a shift in concessions. The Concessions schedule will be out after the Master Schedule is released. Please mark your team's assigned concessions shift on your personal calendar and plan to come to have some fun serving in this great league.
Only league-provided helmets can be worn in games. Only white or gray baseball pants with no piping can be worn. Your manager will notify you of what color pants your team will wear in games.
LONE STAR GEAR - 2223 W Park Row Dr, Pantego, TX 76013 is a great supporter of ASWLL. They offer excellent deals on bats, batting gloves, baseball gloves, cleats, and baseball pants.
You can access information about approved bats HERE. All bats will be inspected and a piece of tape will be applied to the bat indicating that the bat is approved prior to the bat being allowed in the dugout. Bats can be inspected at the Information Tent/Table in front of the Blue Fields prior to each game.
No upcoming scheduled events.
